About
Nicolò Umberto Foron is a German-Italian conductor whose exceptional talent has been recognized through major international accolades, including first prize at the Donatella Flick London Symphony Orchestra Conducting Competition in 2023 and at the International Conducting Competition “Jeunesses Musicales” in Bucharest in 2021. Frequently featured on Classic FM, where his videos have reached millions of views, Nicolò was named among the “30 Under 30” artists of 2025.
In recent years, Foron has established collaborations with a wide range of leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Staatskapelle Weimar, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai, Philharmonisches Orchester Freiburg, Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Opéra national de Montpellier and Opéra national de Lorraine, among many others. He has appeared at some of Europe’s most prestigious venues, including the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg with Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the Wiener Konzerthaus with the Wiener Kammerorchester, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Die Glocke Bremen.
Recent and forthcoming collaborations include appearances with Ensemble intercontemporain, Arktisk Filharmoni, Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra in a tour featuring Viktoria Mullova, BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra at Musiikkitalo, Bremer Philharmoniker, Cameristi della Scala, Odense Symfoniorkester, Euskadiko Orkestra, Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, Orchestra Haydn, SWR Symphonieorchester, Orquesta de Extremadura, Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini and Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle-Aquitaine. His festival appearances include MiTo Settembre Musica and the Festival della Valle d’Itria, where he opens the 2026 edition with a double bill of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella and Casella’s La favola di Orfeo.
The 2026/27 season opens with the European Union Youth Orchestra’s Music Hub Project in Bolzano, followed by engagements with the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Filarmonica della Scala, Dortmunder Philharmoniker,
