The Italian-German conductor Nicolò Umberto Foron has been awarded this year's Deutschlandfunk prize for highly talented young artists.

This was announced by the broadcaster and the Bremen Music Festival on Tuesday. The musician (born 1998) convinced "with his natural musicality, his rousing energy, his clever and analytical approach to the score and his already immense wealth of experience".
